Day 3
Three faithful days in a row of spending 30+ minutes in the workout room. This is a new record for me. The goal is to look good for spring break. Also, to push myself into this. I don’t want to be “that person” who buys a gym membership and never uses it.
I do have to say this about exercise though-my legs have hurt every day since I started. Good hurt, as my dance teacher used to say. (Just tried to spell “used” as “yoused.” Also “used” meaning past tense is a strange concept to me. Conceptually it doesn’t make sense. But I digress.)
Good hurt—the kind of hurt that only happens when you know you’ve been working hard. For me, it was always my legs after jumps. But she always wanted our butts to hurt. Sore butts (get your minds out of the gutter!!!) meant that we were using our gluteus maximus to hold ourselves up in relevé. Oh the things you remember about youth.
Too long? Short version: My legs hurt from working out, but my pride is going to keep me doing this. Also, I want to surprise Aaron (there he is. He had to come up. Shit, I suck at this.)
